Country of Origin: France

Château Branaire is a winery in the Saint-Julien appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. Château Branaire is also the name of the main red wine produced by this property and which was classified as one of the ten 'Fourth Growths' in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.

This estate, which story goes back to the XVIIth century, takes its name from M. Braneyre, first owner of the vineyard in 1680, who acquired the vines after the division of the lands of his neighbor : Château Beychevelle. M. Braneyre’s descendants, the Duluc Family, built the current building in 1824. The unique soils are the core of the Branaire-Ducru wines’ typicity. With its other prestigious neighbors, they form a worldwide renowed appellation: Saint-Julien. In 1855, the prestige of Château Branaire-Ducru was confirmed, when it was ranked 4th classified growth. Patrick Maroteaux, the ambitious and enthusiast owner since 1988, has never ceased his efforts to lead Château Branaire-Ducru towards perfection. His goal was to put its exceptional terroir and its wines under the spotlight.
