Country of Origin: France

Château Cheval Blanc (French for "White Horse Castle"), is a wine producer in Saint-Emilion in the Bordeaux wine region of France. As of 2012, its wine is one of only four to receive the highest rank of Premier Grand Cru Classe (A) status in the Classification of Saint-Emilion wine, along with Chateau Angelus, Ausone, and Chateau Pavie.

Chateau Cheval Blanc has belonged to Albert Frere and Bernard Arnault since 1998. This world-famous estate is managed by Pierre Lurton, a well known figure in Bordeaux. Cheval Blanc's 39 hectares of vines are located in Saint-Emillion, on the border with Pomerol.

Cheval Blanc obtained the highest possible distinction in the first classification of Saint-Emilion wines in 1954: Premier Grand Cru Classé “A”. This exalted rank was confirmed in every following classification in each subsequent decade. Cheval Blanc became a member of the exclusive “Club of 9” comprising the first growths of Bordeaux.
