Country of Origin: France
This Moulis property is named after both the 18th century owner, André-Pierre Gressier de Poyen, and the best section of Moulis terroir, Grand Poujeaux, upon which the vines thrive, and was until 1822 conjoined with the better-known Château Chasse-Spleen and others.
Since 2003 the estate has belonged to the Merlaut family who also own the châteaux of Chasse-Spleen, Gruaud Larose, Haut-Bages Libéral and Camensac.
The blend here usually represents the plantings of 50% cabernet sauvignon and 50% merlot, planted to a high-density on gravel and clay and covering 10 hectares. Vinification is carried out parcel by parcel in stainless steel before a period of 12 months ageing in French oak.
